If you’ve ever felt like the world is just a little too heavy sometimes, Dear Evan Hansen is one of those shows that hits right where it counts. Scheduled for january 8th in Winston Salem, this production dives deep into the messy, beautiful realities of adolescence, think loneliness, vulnerability, and the desperate need for connection. The story centers around Evan, a kid who’s struggling with feeling invisible, and it’s honestly kind of poetic how it captures those awkward, uncertain moments we all go through. The musical isn’t just about the tears and tough stuff though; it’s also about hope, love, and finding your voice when you least expect it. The song Only Us is a real tearjerker, a reminder that sometimes a little bit of love and understanding can change everything.
